The Biggest Club in Mexico: Building the Future of Football

Presented by Club América
Welcome to the ISAC Business Case Competition 2025 presented by Club América! This year’s challenge invites you to think like a strategic consultant to help Mexico’s most decorated football club capitalize on its historic momentum and shape its future beyond the pitch.
Registration Deadline: 2025-10-10
Event Dates: 2025-11-15 – 2025-11-16
Location: Mexico City
Team Size: 3-4
Difficulty: Intermediate
The Challenge
Club América is the most decorated and high-profile team in Mexican football. With 15 league titles and a recent historic three-peat, its position as the dominant brand in the national sport is undisputed. Its fan base is massive, diverse, and polarizing—sparking both devotion and rivalry, which translates into unmatched visibility and engagement.
The club has invested heavily in its sporting infrastructure, attracting elite talent and improving processes. However, the next challenge lies off the pitch: how can it leverage this sporting dominance to generate greater economic, social, and brand value?
Adding to the opportunity, all eyes will be on Mexico in 2026 as it co-hosts the FIFA World Cup, with Estadio Banorte standing as one of the most significant venues of the tournament.
Digital & Sporting Dominance
Club América not only dominates on the field—it leads in the digital arena as well: it’s the most-searched Mexican club in the United States, the team with the largest social media presence in Mexico, and its women’s squad ranks as the third most successful in Liga MX Femenil history.

Everything is set for América to keep winning on and off the pitch
With its sporting dominance, unrivaled digital presence, and a rising women’s team, Club América has all the tools to continue its growth beyond football. This is your chance to be part of that historic process—designing strategies that turn potential into reality and cement América as Mexico’s most powerful sports brand.
Strategic Opportunities
Your team will develop one of the following four strategic opportunities identified as top priorities by Club América:
1. “Águilas Forever”: Post-Three-Peat Loyalty
The Challenge: Club América has achieved something unprecedented in recent Mexican football—a three-peat that cements its status as the country’s most successful club. The challenge now is how to transform that sporting dominance into a long-term relationship with fans, beyond the stadium or season.
The Opportunity: Design a 360° loyalty program that capitalizes on the pride and belonging sparked by the three-peat. This could include innovative elements to transform fans into emotional stakeholders, living the América brand year-round—not just every 90 minutes.
Key Question: How can América institutionalize the pride of the three-peat and convert it into lasting economic, emotional, and social value?
2. “Packed Stadiums for Women’s Football”: Breaking Attendance Records
The Challenge: Women’s football in Mexico is growing fast. Liga MX Femenil is consolidating audiences, generating local talent, and attracting new sponsors. Club América Femenil is already a major player, but there is still a significant gap in visibility, attendance, and monetization.
The Opportunity: Develop an ambitious yet realistic strategy to maximize attendance at a Club América Femenil match at Estadio Azteca. Solutions may include marketing tactics, institutional partnerships, emotional campaigns, discounts, social activations, or viral content.
Key Question: What strategy could turn a women’s match into a social and cultural phenomenon that draws tens of thousands of people through narrative, emotion, and strategy?
3. “América Mundial”: The Most Visible Club in a Club-Free World Cup
The Challenge: Mexico will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. While the tournament features national teams, América has a unique opportunity to play off the pitch. Estadio Banorte will be a key venue. América calls it home. América is Mexico.
The Opportunity: Imagine how the club could become the most visible, relevant, and active football institution during the World Cup—without playing a single match. Proposals could include urban activations, pop-up museums, historic content, international collaborations, collectible products, emotional campaigns with former players, presence in FIFA Fan Zones, or partnerships with global media.
Key Question: How can Club América “play” the 2026 World Cup off the pitch and position itself as Mexico’s most visible club to the world?
4. “América Without Borders”: Winning New Audiences
The Challenge: América is the most recognized Mexican club brand abroad. Its history, titles, and polarizing nature have made it a cult icon in Hispanic communities across the U.S. and Latin America. Yet, it still lacks a clear internationalization strategy beyond friendlies or one-off campaigns.
The Opportunity: Develop a comprehensive strategy to bring América to new international audiences, focusing on the U.S., South America, and new digital generations. Can América become an entertainment brand for the Mexican and Latin diaspora?
Key Question: How can América expand its fan base beyond Mexico and create new revenue streams through content, community, and product?

Additional Considerations
These will not have their own score, but can break ties:
- Feasibility: Could Club América realistically implement your strategy?
- ROI Focus: Does your proposal demonstrate a clear return on investment?
- Cultural Relevance: Does your strategy resonate with Mexican football culture?
Important: Proposals that fail to meet feasibility, ROI, and cultural relevance criteria will not be considered with the same weight.
Key Focus Areas
Your proposal should comprehensively cover at least two of these three strategic pillars:
- U.S. Market Domination: Strategies to consolidate and expand América’s presence in the U.S., leveraging its status as the most-searched team
- Women’s Football Growth: Using América’s institutional strength to position its women’s team as a LATAM benchmark — boosting attendance, sponsorships, and emotional connection
- Fan Engagement & Emotional Connection: Creating content, activations, memberships, or experiences relevant to new generations and digital audiences
Special consideration will be given to proposals that unite two pillars, identifying synergies to create solutions that deliver value in both areas.
